Synopsis
Set in Spain and London in the early 1980s, The Shoot (working title) is a rock and roll adventure combining the excesses of Hollywood with the evolution of music television.
Miles is our Oxford educated charming yet naive hero who, aspiring only to write the great English novel, will end up getting himself involved in the legendary first video of the super Metal Band: OMEN. Before anyone in the UK could even get Music Television on their televisions, Miles will end up accidentally directing a Music Video where everything goes wrong: The truck containing all the equipment crashes, the director is injured in a bizarre on set accident (hence requiring Miles to take over), the production assistant goes temporarily insane, the band splits up, the film stock is stolen by a man who fashions himself "The King Of The Gypsies", the producer goes bankrupt and Miles is forced to become the director, producer and commander of The Shoot. All this while shooting a "western" in a remote area of Spain.
Along the way Miles is seduced by the glamour but stands to lose everything real in his life, his girlfriend, and most importantly, his sanity and principles.
Combining the music of the 80's era with an outrageously ridiculous rock adventure, The Shoot is a story with appeal for all ages.
